Projection How the texture wraps around your model. Triplanar works best for most shapes. Try Cylindrical for round objects like knobs or bottles.

Displacement Controls how much the surface is deformed by the texture.

How far the surface pushes out (or in with negative values). Double-click to reset.

Symmetric

When on, mid-gray = no movement. Dark pushes inward, light pushes outward. Keeps overall volume closer to original.

3D Preview

Moves vertices in the viewport to show actual displacement. Not 100% identical to the export, but close enough to dial in settings.

Transform Adjusts the size, position, and rotation of the texture pattern on the model surface.

Scale 0.50

Tiles the texture larger or smaller. Lower = finer detail, higher = larger pattern.

Offset 0.00

Slides the texture across the surface to fine-tune placement.

Rotation 0°

Rotates the texture pattern. Useful for aligning stripes or grain direction.

Seam Blend 0.00

Softens the edges where two projection directions meet. Higher = smoother transitions but may cause slight overlaps.

Angle Masking Excludes faces based on their angle. Essential for 3D printing — you don't want texture on the print bed face or steep overhangs.

Bottom 5°

Masks downward-facing surfaces. Set to 5° to protect the print bed contact area.

Top 0°

Masks upward-facing (top) surfaces. FDM top surfaces don't capture fine details well.

Export Settings Controls the quality and file size of the exported textured STL.

Resolution (mm) 0.50

Max triangle edge length after subdivision. Lower = finer detail but larger files and longer processing. Try defaults first.

Max Triangles (k) 750k

Target triangle count after decimation. 750k is a good balance — most slicers handle it fine. Lower = smaller files.
